From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER playfully explores the depths of greed and despair and the bonds of friendship duty and love. Opening Night: September 14 - wine and cheese reception before the show.

Performances:

Wednesday & Thursday at 7:30 pm
Friday & Saturday at 8:00 pm
Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm, followed by a talk back with the cast.

Tuesday matinee: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 2pm

OPEN MIC: Saturday, October 6 following the performance. Come to the show and stay or come on over just for open mic. Take the stage or sit back and cheer on those who are performing! Open mic nights are free and open to the public, and BYOB (tips for the pianist are encouraged). Bring your own sheet music or choose from ours; we'll provide an accompanist!

Melanie Guerin (Music Director) is thrilled to be back at the Playhouse on Park after music directing this summer’s production of IN THE HEIGHTS. A West Hartford resident, Melanie holds a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance and music education, as well as a Master of Music Education degree, both from The Hartt School. She was a professional educator in Connecticut public schools for eleven years, having taught band, orchestra, chamber music, composition, music history, and music theory. She has presented at music education conventions at the state and national levels, focusing on composition and teaching empathy through music. Melanie teaches beginning instrumental conducting at The Hartt School, as well as serving as a vocal coach, music director, and accompanist in the theater division.

Sean Harris (Director) is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Playhouse on Park.  Directing Credits include IN THE HEIGHTS, PASSING STRANGE, ANGELS IN AMERICA, OF MICE AND MEN, CABARET, HAIR, and METAMORPHOSES. Acting Credits include: THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, and THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED. NYC Directing Credits: The Barrow Group, The Producers Club, Theatre 22, and the Theatre at Westbeth. Recent Directing Credits: Western CT State University: Fifth Letter Productions.  Other regional acting credits include productions at Florida Studio Theatre, Shakespeare on The Sound, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. Sean has directed three productions at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival including the world-premiere of KISSED THE GIRLS AND MADE THEM CRY, which won Best New/Original work by Broadwayworld in 2015 and was recently published by Playscripts.  Sean has a BA in Acting and Directing from DeSales University and an MFA from The New School for Drama/Actors Studio.  He is currently on the Theatre Faculty at the Spence School.
