Who would ever suspect that a tiny little mouse could wear out an energetic young boy? Well, if you're going to go around giving an exuberantly bossy rodent a cookie, you'd best be prepared to do one or two more favors for it before your day is through. For example, he'll certainly need a glass of milk to wash down that cookie, won't he? And you can't expect him to drink the milk without a straw, can you? By the time our hero is finished granting all the mouse's very urgent requests--and cleaning up after him--it's no wonder his head is becoming a bit heavy. Laura Joffe Numeroff's tale of warped logic is a sure-fire winner. Pre-schoolers will love it as will their grandparents and anyone who has ever read the book. It’s good fun for the whole family. (55 minutes)

"Trying to single out a favorite moment in If You Give A Mouse A Cookie is kind of like trying to pick out the cutest puppy in the basket." --St. Paul Pioneer Press

"The show takes you on a journey of messy, side-splitting hilarity." --Minneapolis Star Tribune

KEVIN BARLOWSKI (The Boy) is making his Playhouse debut!  A native of West Hartford, Kevin returns home after the international tour of THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) where he played the role of Daniel throughout Thailand.  Kevin holds (in his left hand) a B.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College and carefully balanced in his right hand, a certificate in Musical Theatre Performance from Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York City.  Past regional credits include URINETOWN (Caldwell B. Cladwell), A MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM (Lysander, Francis Flute, First Fairy), INTO THE WOODS (Baker) and FOOTLOOSE (Ren McCormack).  He has also had the privilege of performing in Broadway for a New America.  An active accompanist and instructor at the Greater Hartford Arts Academy, Kevin dedicates this performance to his parents and fellow cellar dwellers.

RICK FOUNTAIN (The Mouse) is happy to return to the Playhouse stage, after appearing last season in the ICY HOT CABARET and stop/time dance theater's VARIETY SHOW. Rick is a West Hartford resident and has performed several times on this stage and in local community theaters including Little Theater of Manchester and Manchester Musical Players. Favorite roles include: A CHORUS LINE (Bobby), SEUSSICAL (Cat in the Hat), DAMES AT SEA (Lucky), SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Cosmo), HELLO, DOLLY! (Cornelius) and 42ND STREET (Billy Lawlor). Rick is an original member of stop/time dance theater and sings with the St. Peter Claver choir in West Hartford. By day, Rick works for The Hartford in the HR Learning organization. Do you like learning? Did you just see that bird fly by? Anyone have a cookie?

DAWN LOVELAND (Director) is excited to be directing at Playhouse on Park!  Previous directing credits include THE LITTLE MERMAID Surflight Theatre and a reading of Winterset at Berkshire Theatre Festival.  She assisted directors at Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, Surflight Theatre, and Berkshire Theatre Festival.  Dawn also frequently works as a stage manager, most recently for Playhouse on Park’s production of SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM.  She stage managed the Surflight-To-Go educational touring theatre company and for children’s theatre at St. Michael’s Playhouse.  Also at Surflight, Dawn assistant stage managed this summer’s main stage season and taught musical theatre classes.  Dawn graduated from Middlebury College, where she both directed and stage managed several productions.  She would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support, and she would like to send a “giant” thank you both to the cast and crew of this show, and to everyone at Playhouse on Park!
