DanceEnlight Lorelei Chang is the Artistic Director of "dancEnlight ," a newly formed modern dance company based in Hartford, CT. dancEnlight is a multi-cultural modern dance ensemble. The company has interest in infusing dance with other art forms, and exploring and working with various national and international artists.
EQuilibrium Dance Theatre formed in early 2009 to explore and fuse different styles of movement ranging from hip hop and modern to lindy hop, ballet, and African. Under the direction of choreographer and Artistic Director Jolet Creary, the company is evolving into a well versed company known for entertaining audiences with its fresh and unique approach to dance choreography and story telling.
Full Force Dance Theatre has presented modern dance to audiences of all ages, coast to coast since 1992. Originally formed in San Diego, California, it’s mission has been to promote the creative vision of its director and primary choreographer, Katie Stevinson-Nollet; to present high quality, creative and innovative work by both professionally distinguished choreographers as well as up and coming young artists to the community in accessible and affordable programs; to explore the creative process of dance making; to develop the collaborative process between dancers, choreographer, and musicians; and to provide professional experience, training, and performance opportunities to local Hartford dancers. Joel Silvestro has been teaching dance since his early adult years in California with Arthur Murray and continues to support not only the dancing in Connecticut but theatre as well. Joel is one of the founding members of the Rhythm Rousers, Connecticut's premier swing dance lindy hop performance group now entering its eleventh year in existence. The group not only performs their own choreographed routines, but can enhance any occasion with dance lessons and "social dancing."
The Stardust Dancers was formed in 2008 by a group of local ballroom enthusiasts who choreograph their routines and perform a variety of ballroom dance routines including Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Hustle, Samba and Swing to audiences throughout New England.
Spectrum In Motion was founded in 1982 in the Pioneer Valley/5 College Community of Western Massachusetts. The second generation of dancers was launched in the fall of 2003 at Charter Oak Cultural Center and comes from an ensemble of my student dancers I called The Youth Dance Performance Project. I have been blessed to have an opportunity to raise dancers (1998 to the present) and to continue to build original work. It is with excitement that The Company and I look forward to what lies ahead as we continue to take baby steps and inspire others (young and not so young) to dance, embracing the simple notion that Dance is for everyone. We all should be dancing! --Director Olivia Davis
