Description: This class will give students an added understanding of not only the craft of acting, but also their own personal instruments as actors, and what it means to work on a professional level. They will use techniques and games made popular by Konstantin Stanislavski, Augusto Boal, Sanford Meisner, Keith Johnstone, and Kristen Linklatter. They will also explore the art of acting through devised original games and exercises. Students will have the opportunity to take master classes from visiting guest artists on specialized topics. On the final class, students will present scenes and monologues.

Broadway guest artists (TBD) will be brought in to teach students master classes in special topics.

INSTRUCTORS
AARON PITRE is a professional Actor and Playwright based in West Hartford. He began acting over 25 years ago with the Missoula Children's Theatre, and is a graduate of the theatre program at Suffolk University in Boston. He has worked professionally with several professional theatre companies throughout Seattle, New England, and Buffalo, and is the Board President and Acting Company Manager of Bated Breath Theatre Company. As a teaching artist and educator, he has worked as a with Hartford Stage, The Oddfellows Playhouse, The Long Wharf Theatre, and Hartford Performs, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Hartford Public Schools, and Middletown Public Schools. He is the author of Inside the Cup; an exciting play about the life adventure of nine people who work for the world's most popular coffee shop.
