One of the next great dramatic writers may be right here in West Hartford, CT. James Denton, a West Hartford native and Conard High/Briarwood College grad who has been volunteering at Playhouse on Park since February of 2010, has a passion for writing; he says “I’ll never stop trying to succeed as a writer. I am good at it and I believe I was born to do it.”
So what does James do when he’s not writing? He works at A.C. Peterson’s and juggles his many roles at Playhouse on Park, including those of House Manager, Box Office/Office Manager, Administrator, Marquee Changer, Blog Writer, Errand Runner, Poster Hanger, Staff Trainer, Ticket Seller, and Theater Cleaner. James’ catch phrase seems to be “Oh, why don’t I do that?” James also enjoys baking, exercising, listening to music, spending time with friends (including the many he has made at Playhouse on Park), and watching movies.
James hopes to fulfill his potential by becoming a successful stage/screen writer like Neil Simon, one of his favorites. “I hate to see people not living up to their potential,” says James. “Greatness can be achieved when people recognize their potential. When they do, we all win.”

Marketing Committee
Interested in helping to spread the word about Playhouse on Park? Please join our marketing committee. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Playhouse on Park. We need people to coordinate senior relations, corporate relations, literature at special events, promotions of subscriptions and group sales, etc. Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 11th. Fundraising Events and Activities Committee
Interested in helping raising money for Playhouse on Park? Please join our fundraising Events and Activities Committee if you are interested in helping to create and plan events and activities, or run a sub-committee/event or just let us know that you wish to be called upon when volunteers are needed for specific events.
